Large figure paintings and portraits of famous American women were done in the early 2000’s. At the same time and through the 1990’s I created non-objective paintings inspired by music, some contemporary, like Soft Cell and 20th century popular like Gershwin. I attempted to visualize older music from composers like Gounod, Mozart and the fifteenth century composer, Josquin Des Prez.

In 1992 I began painting with acrylics after my experience of using them for the eight foot sets for The Gerwick Puppets Landscape oil paintings of Massachustts are from the 1970’s. Watercolor and oilswere done in the years after my graduation from Art School at Pratt Institute in 1963.
